Condylomas are warty lesions that can appear on the perianal skin or within the anal canal, it is a sexually transmitted disease, generated by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and that is extremely contagious. Its transmission can occur both orally, anally or genitally. This type of pathology is found in approximately two-thirds of users who have had unprotected sex with an infected person.
The most frequent symptoms are usually the presence of palpable nodules, hemoproctorrhagia (anal bleeding) in the case of endoanals, itching/ itching sensation and the presence of dermatitis due to “wet anus”.
Condylomas can increase in size and even multiply their number and be more difficult to treat or with greater sequelae. The virus can generally occur in condyloma lesions known as AIN (Anal Intraepithelial Neoplasia) that may be precursors to squamous cell carcinoma of the anus (anal cancer).

Transmission can occur both orally, anally or genitally
CO2 laser surgery
With regard to the treatment for condylomas, in the Specialized Proctological Center a prior assessment is developed in the first consultation, performing different tests necessary to assess the patient’s situation and the method indicated for his case.
In this way, cases of condylomas can be treated by topical medication, when they are small and external. When they are large in size or are inside the anus, surgical intervention is necessary. In the Center we perform the surgery by means of the CO2 laser, thanks to which the removal of the warts is achieved in an extremely effective way, also using local anesthesia so that the patient at all times is comfortable and does not suffer any discomfort and with a lower rate of reappearance of the warts.
