Anoscopy
Anoscopy is a test that uses a small tubular instrument, the anoscope. This is inserted a few centimeters into the anus in order to evaluate problems in the anal canal and the lower part of the rectum.
Anoscopy is used to diagnose hemorrhoids, fissures, and some cancers.
Rigid diagnostic and therapeutic rectosigmoideoscopy
Rectosigmoidoscopy is a scan during which the walls of the final part of the colon, rectum, and sigmoid are inspected for possible abnormal growths, called polyps or tumors in the early stages.
Flexible diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy
Colonoscopy visualizes the inside of the colon (large intestine) and rectum, using an instrument called a colonoscope, which is a flexible probe with a small camera that allows you to see inside the colon.
